Almost two months before the Local Elections in Turkey, the AKP government is engaging in illegal activities to gain victory in several provinces. According to the Election Commission of the People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), various illegal activities have been detected in Kurdish provinces, districts, and towns. The commission found that many voters from different cities and from abroad have been registered in Kurdish cities with false information in order to influence the election results. Illegal voter registration is a serious crime that undermines the democratic process and fair elections. It has been reported that these illegal registration activities have been carried out in cities where the HDP won or came second in the last local elections, held in 2019.
